Over 100 people gathered at The Winery in Newport Beach, CA to take part in The Literacy Project’s highly anticipated event, Cheers for Literacy. The event was a friendly bar battle, where two teams battled it out to see who could raise the most money, in the form of cash tips, to benefit The Literacy Project.

The first team was made up members from Stark Fitness: Head Trainer Nick Peralta and Founder Todd Vande Hei. They put on an entertaining and charming scene in the cocktail war for Round 1. These two bartenders shook up the challenge up a level and showed their dedication on helping support The Literacy Project during the hour they held the bar.

As more people entered the bar, Team 2 took over, comprised of Devon Wortmann, Realtor at Arbor Real Estate, and Joe Stapleton, President of Spinnaker Investment Group. Although the friendly competition was fierce, everyone in attendance would agree that it was a successful event, where new friends and introductions were made. The Literacy Project was able to continue giving the gift of literacy to at-risk children, and build even more momentum towards the upcoming 10-Year Anniversary Gala in October

Cheers to that!
